Sleepover Show #119: Larcenist

We first worked with Larcenist last summer when we teamed up with the Boston Phoenix and Ryan’s Smashing Life to hold a benefit concert at Great Scott for victims of the tornados down south. That night, we joined together to raise some much-needed funds for the victims, and happened to listen to some great music at the same time. We told Brandon of Larcenist right after their set that we wanted to eventually get them together for a session all their own.
It was a long time coming, but we finally met up with the group a few months back in a motorcycle shop tucked neatly away in Union Square in Somerville. Surrounded by bike parts, tools, chains, halfway put-together motorcycles, some oil spots, and a fair amount of beards, we gathered the band together to capture a few songs.
From what we hear, the band is busy at work on their next album—and we hope that some of the music you’ll see below will find its way onto the new collection. You have a few great chances to experience them live in the next few weeks as well. On Thursday they’ll be at Middle East Upstairs with Tallahassee, Willy Mason, and Moonlight Mile. And on Cinco De Mayo they’ll be out rocking the Boston Food Truck Festival, which just sounds awesome. We hope you enjoy the videos!
