The Features put on a great living room jam.  Stopping by during a particularly cold day, we retreated to the cozy confines of our apartment and captured a few songs from the excellent Wilderness, released last summer.  The fellas had been travelling quite a bit at that point, nearing the end of their tour.  Singer Matt Pelham was feeling a bit hoarse from the road, but powered through the set with the help of a few gulps of water.

Thankfully, their energy was not spent, and they played a bunch of our favorite songs from the album, including, Big Mama’s Gonna Whip Us Good, which pits mother earth against all the evils we’ve brought upon her, leaving the weathermen confounded and the animals running for their lives.  With howls and jams, The Features makes it a fun warning to hear.

They have a nice collection of demos and outtakes, Still Lost, out now, with a new version of Wilderness coming out this week, and you should pick it up.   For now, we hope you enjoys these alternative versions.
